Member & Business Feedback

"M3 job club has been invaluable and set me up with all the tools and advice that were required to find me my next job. I first came at the start of my gardening leave and from the beginning it steered me in the right direction to take the whole job hunting journey with confidence".

"All the members and speakers have been a pleasure to meet and I cannot thank them enough and long may the club continue". - Lee T - Apr 17

"The M3 Job Club is an amazingly valuable group of extraordinary individuals. The sessions that are offered have been a fantastic help for me in understanding how the world now looks for their employees.  The ideas behind creating your own brand, using the CV as a job application, interview techniques and personality profiling have really helped me on my way to understanding what I want from a new role, how to find that new role and then once in my new role how to operate within that organisation.  The support and advice offered by the volunteers at the M3 Job club has been very welcome and being able to send Friday mornings in the company of others in the same position, who have the same feelings and emotions is very reassuring and somewhat comforting. Richard, Judith and their team of volunteers do a truly wonderful job in running the M3 Job Club." - Daniel S - Mar 17

"I found the M3 Job Club is incredibly useful. There is a wealth of experience and knowledge from the people who run it and the members who attend. Everybody is so inspiring and supportive and so keen to offer help and guidance even after I told them what I was doing. The M3 job club is also a great place for networking and making connections. The people who present are brilliant. All those expertise for free is incredible. I’m sorry I can’t continue going. It almost makes me regret securing employment (almost!)" - Esi H - Feb 17

"Being made redundant a second time within a year has been very difficult and
unpleasant. Job searching and interviewing has been a rollercoaster of emotions but
coming each week to the M3 Job Club has helped me tremendously".

"In fact, I regret not attending earlier on in my time out. The quality of the sessions and presentations have been excellent. The encouragement and advice provided by your
speakers  have proved invaluable, not just for now but also for my future career.
It’s also good to receive support from fellow members and after each session I felt
revitalised and inspired".

"I was really looking forward to attending  the rest of your programme until the end
of the year but  I’ll have to miss out now"! - Peter T - Nov 16

"The club has been vey useful, particularly the comradeship and mutual support from the other members at each meeting. It has been most rewarding to have attended the Job Club for this time. It has helped to give me support when I was feeling isolated, ideas when I thought I had run out of options and helped to maintain my self-esteem and motivation.
The various sessions have taught me a great deal and really helped my CV, cover letters, interview technique and my on-line ‘brand' which has generated lots of interest from recruiters.
Thank you for the support of the M3 Job Club and I’ll be sure to make a donation to the cause once my first pay packet lands" - Richard A - Jul 16

"I would like to thank Richard, yourself, and all those who contribute to the M3 Job Club, for the effort they put in to provide this service.  Each week, those of us who are out of work gain both a session on essential aspects to re-gain a job, but also an environment where we can admit our hopes and fears with others in the same position.  This second part is so important, as looking for a new role is a lonely task, where you are often hiding the level of rejection you are receiving, from your family and friends.

Thank you for providing the M3 Job Club, and long may it continue. (until there is no one left redundant !)" - Colin P - May 2016

"I was so grateful for the M3 Job Club. The quality of the sessions was very high and in my case really helped me realise that the NHS was where I fitted in. I just needed to work hard to gain knowledge and use my contacts to make the change into a new area, from capital planning to the system transformation. Congratulations of reaching 5 years" - Claire G - Apr 2016

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the M3 Job Club. I was initially cautious but found the presenters, trustees, staff and fellow attendees very friendly and extremely helpful. The ambiance was consistently upbeat and it provided good punctuation to my week. I fully expect to stay in contact with many of the people I met. I would definitely recommend the M3 Job Club to any professional in the area who is seeking employment for whatever reason. The club provides a supportive and positive learning environment it would be hard to find elsewhere. Attending helped me keep focussed and provided much needed structure for my weeks whilst job searching" James P - Mar 2016

"I enjoy coming to M3job club to network and learn different things from different people. I also enjoy acquiring new skills and  knowledge to improve my overall wellness. I will be always be grateful for that" - Priscilla L-P - Jan16

"I would like to thank you and all the presenters for all the advice and support that you give to everyone.   You really can't get all this anywhere else. I first came to the job club not really knowing where to start with job search, since the last time I looked for a job was back in 1986" -  Annette R - Apr 15.

"Thank you for all the support at such a challenging time. I do not think people truly understand the impact job transition has on a person unless they have been through it .The work you do is invaluable and although I was provided with professional outplacement services I gained most from the programme you run. I particularly want to thank Nikki Wild as I gained so much from the first session she ran and the power of positive thought." - Ruth - Apr 15.

"Thank you and all the speakers so much for your support, advice & encouragement over my three month job search, after redundancy at Xmas 2014. I was so pleased how the existing members and panel members made me feel so welcome.

More often than not I went to the sessions feeling a bit low, but always felt so much better and energised after the sessions and networking. I took advantage of individual interview and CV help (Jo Campos) for which I'm most grateful.

I wish the M3 Job Club every success and hope members find positions they are looking for" - Neil Wright - Mar 15.

"I have finally managed to find a job and not only "a job" but a dream has come true. I would like to thank you and the M3 Job Club, it has made me realise that there is actually light at the end of the tunnel and I was not the only one in this position. I must say I was disappointed and frustrated at times not being able to find a job but things happen randomly/luckily when you least expect them it seems. Thanks again for all the help and organising this club, the sessions were something that not only helped to keep me going but learnt some new things as well and met some interesting people, what I want to say to everyone is not to give up" - Fivos P - Nov 14

oo-OO-oo

"Your personality and approach makes the whole thing happen and in such a way as I felt human again within minutes of attending my first session! My experience and association with the Club is a stand out element in my recent career path, as it meant that rather than just being 'between jobs', I was adding valuable skills and learning how to become more employable - a real-life skill for this and future job-hunting exercises. I can't speak highly enough about the Club" - Ralph H - Nov 14

oo-OO-oo

"I would like to say here though, that I think the Job Club is a great entity, excellent for morale when times are tough and run in a very professional and constructive way. I've not only enjoyed attending, but also I think benefitted literally every week with the discussions and presentations. These have helped massively with confidence, ideas and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel" - Stephen E - Oct 14

oo-OO-oo

"I just wanted to the take the opportunity to thank you and your charity for supporting me throughout this, somewhat desperate at times, journey with your support, tutoring and generally uplifting attitude. I cannot share enough with everyone I meet on just how important your club became to me and the inspiring talk from you each week as you shared another success story at the beginning of each session. I am therefore offering mine so someone else will feel that they could be next" - Debbie T - Oct 14

oo-OO-oo

"The support and confidence provided is immeasurable. The professional way we are treated by the superb professionals who run the club is a massive confidence boost. The cameraderie of the people and understanding of our situations helps you to fell less isolated and valued. I learnt something from each session and came home a much happier wife, mum and daughter" - Geraldine N

"I rather got out of the habit of attending job club and regret not attending more meetings. I found it offered a great support network. It was excellent to get away from the laptop and internet job search to meet fellow jobseekers and realise that I was not alone. I made some really useful contacts. Thanks to Richard, yourself and all the organisers and the speakers who came along to give such interesting, useful and insightful presentations. To all those still looking, keep perservering - that next job is just around the corner. Attended Liz's session in the morning went for an interview in the afternoon and got the job! I can give no higher recommendation. Thanks Liz." - Richard M

“I was made redundant end of January 2014 after 33 years in IT services for local government and now finding myself in the rather alien world of the unemployed.  I attended my first M3JC yesterday which was so inspiring and motivational to see that there are many others in the same unfortunate position as me and I came away feeling so much more positive that I will eventually succeed in getting that new job.   Wish I had started a couple of weeks ago now that I can see how supportive this club can be. Many thanks, I will be there next week” – Denise W

"I just want to say thank you for introducing me to the M3 Job Club. What a brilliant opportunity that you and you team provide to improve the chances of gaining employment. The advice that I picked up from my first session last Friday alone was invaluable. I am really looking forward to attending the other events" - Neil S

"Firstly, can I just say what a fantastic group you have set up!  For the first time since my redundancy I truly felt I was with like-minded people in a supportive environment where everyone was willing to share ideas and experiences to move forward.  I really do appreciate having this facility available to me, especially with having no outplacement support.
As someone who has had to design and deploy training, I thought the LinkedIn training was excellent" - Genevieve G

"I found the session extremely useful in that I was able to meet so many other people. It was particularly good to share some common experiences and thoughts that others had in areas unrelated to mine (of IT) and the avenues people were pursuing in order to find new roles. I thought this element of support was particularly useful. I was very pleased to come along" -  TIm C

"It's great to see people getting on because it gives us others hope and faith that it can and will happen" - Ian H

"I was made redundant at the end of March [2013] and although the Job Centre encouraged me to attend the M3 job club I held off as I have some 1:1 time with an outplacement service. I was also a bit concerned that it would just be a bunch of people moaning about how awful everything is. Being out of work is new for me and I have found the situation very frustrating.

However I decided this week that I would come down to find out what it was all about.

The first thing to say is that as I sat in the room at the start of the session it felt very familiar; as if I were attending a training course at work. This is in stark contrast to attending the Job Centre where I always feel a bit “processed”, and I certainly don’t belong there. Coming to the Job Club genuinely felt like being back at work, and started to get me into a good place mentally.

I found that I could relate to the other people attending the Job Club, and they were projecting a generally positive outlook, which I found infectious. Several individuals commented to me they look forward to Fridays because of the Job Club.

I have to tell you that Lynda and Jan did a tremendous job. I learned a lot from the session, and it was fun! I came away wondering why I hadn’t come down before. It hasn’t changed the actual situation – I’m still without work and with no “hot prospects” at the moment, but I have a renewed sense of purpose and I feel much better able to accept the current situation" - Iain F

"I attended the M3 job club for the first time last week and, following discussions with some of the attendees, I was prompted to make direct contact with certain members of my Linkedin network, enquiring if they were aware of any positions likely to be available now or in the near future.

Incredibly, I received a positive response from the second person I contacted, and was offered a contract with Jaguar Land Rover today.

I am almost disappointed not be joining you all again on Friday – You are clearly doing something that is positive, worthwhile and most definitely effective" - Keith M

"I don't believe it is a coincidence that I have found a good job after attending the job club. oo-OO-oo

"The sessions certainly helped me focus on how the employment market has changed with respect to the interview process. I had never previously done as much research for  job interviews as I did for the companies that I attended interviews for (I was all 'competency' question researched out) but it obviously worked what with being successful in being offered positions with both". "I thought it was superb! For me, and I think the rest of the attendees, the value is obviously from the three Ladies (coaches) on what they can do to “present themselves better” before and during interview. I couldn’t have agreed more when one of them said confidence and enthusiasm is the key. You are obviously making a difference. Well worth attending!" - M3 Job Club session 16 December 2011. Jamie Moore, Premier Services Executive, Microsoft Services

"The economy and job prospects have  never been more difficult to predict, except to say that both will be challenging. The M3 Job Club could not have been created at a better time offering all ages a package of help in finding a new role. I hope businesses of all sizes will work with the Job Club in sourcing talent for the future". Cllr. Andrew Finney [previously] Leader Basingstoke & Deane Bourough Council)

"I am immensely grateful for the work that you have done in setting up the M3 Job Club and running it in such an effective way. In spite of all the challenges, which there must be, you always come over as very much in control and reassuring which is so important for folk when they are trying to come to terms with their situation and find a way forward, whatever that may be.

I must also say that, without exception, I have found all of the sessions really valuable and learned some new things as well as being stimulated by the company and experiences of others. I do hope that, in the future, I will be able to put something back into the M3JC". Mike D

It really does help and is much appreciated.  I think the M3 Job Club is a great idea and is fulfilling a key role in supporting "professionals" in the Basingstoke area, but clearly it is your personal enthusiasm and drive that has made it the success it has become, and I know you will keep up the good work". - Mark H

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your efforts; the increasing numbers every week show just how much the Job Club is needed and without yourself and the speakers I'm not sure how the need would be met. Although I'm not the most outgoing of people I have found the chance to chat with others in the same position really helpful and I dont think there has been a week where I haven't come out with a new idea or a new thought about improving the way I have been searching for jobs". David C
