  • Develop an accountancy system called Aptos
  • With the death of the CEO this year the company has been taken over by 2 members of the management team and are now taking the company in a different direction
  • Still supporting Aptos but are now resellers of NetSuite which is a cloud based financial system
  • Have around 30 customers mainly in education and retail

Support Consultancy Role

  • Customer facing role
  • To support customers who use our internally developed accountancy product – Aptos
  • Deal with phone calls and emails from clients with queries
  • Resolve customer queries or pass query to another member of the team for a resolution
  • Analyse data using Oracle SQL and/or Sequel Server
  • Update internal support logging system
  • Monitor outstanding support issues
  • Send out monthly reports
  • Be involved in customer newsletters

Future development

  • On site account management meetings with customers, with another member of the team
  • Learn NetSuite and to support customer base
  • Assist with NetSuite marketing campaigns via social media
  • Attend networking events to promote NetSuite

The Role
You’ll be there to:
• Help the team to continuously and iteratively improve the automation, tools and processes that get code from concept through to production as high-quality and risk-free as required.
• Find areas for improvement. Reducing friction of any repeated processes.
• Be involved in architecture designs and planning, to bring your experience & perspective.
• Write test cases based on the product specifications and designs
• Make sure that the product fulfils the requirements using manual and automated tests
• Bring a quality assurance perspective to the work the team is doing
• Bring a strong in knowledge of different forms of software testing
• Design testing: ensuring final implementation matches agreed designs and UX
• End user testing: impersonating end users and their journeys through the application to help uncover edge cases, and ensure the products users’ overall experience is bug free
• Able to find and raise issues before they get to our customers
The team is already following good DevOps practices so will guide the automation test engineer through an initial period of getting up to speed with the existing code base, understanding the application and systems, getting set up with the right credentials, access and tools.
