Supporting Neurodiverse People on their journey back into the workplace

This session is designed for people that have a neurodiversity (diagnosed or not). This could include ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Tourette’s Syndrome, and Dyspraxia. PLEASE NOTE: EVEN IF THIS SESSION IS NOT PERSONALLY APPLICABLE TO YOU, IT MAY STILL BE USEFUL FOR YOU TO JOIN US IF YOU HAVE A NEURODIVERSE FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER AS YOU COULD ATTEND THIS SESSION AND FEED THE INFORMATION BACK TO THEM. The session will cover:

    • What is neurodiversity? An overview of the different types of neurodiversity and their main features.
    • The benefits of neurodiversity to a business; how to market yourself to a potential employer.
    • The Equality Act 2010; your legal rights when applying for a job and within a new role.
    • How to manage your mental health and wellbeing at work.

Reasons to attend 

  • To know how to market the benefits of your neurodiversity to a potential employer during the recruitment process.
  • To understand what you are legally entitled to as a neurodivergent person applying for a job (including reasonable adjustment within interviews, specialist equipment)
  • To find out more about The Department of Work and Pensions Access to Work scheme, which aims to support neurodiverse people back into work.
